The Artwork of Sandra Chang-Adair

All images on this page are copyright by Sandra Chang-Adair

Sandra Chang-Adair was born in Kingston, New York and is an illustrator and graphics designer currently living with her husband and 2 dogs in California. She began her career by self-publishing black and white comics during the early nineties though Aja Blu Comix. She created Achilles Storm and later on Akemi, which appeared in Yolk magazine. She loves creating artwork digitally using Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter and Adobe Illustrator, but also enjoys the traditional medium of oil paints, acrylics and watercolors. Her favorite subject matter is fantasy and martial arts. Her newest endeavor is a brand of cute martial art characters called Banzai Chicks. She has debuted her Banzai Chicks merchandise this year at San Diego Comic-con and had an overwhelming great response to her silk-screen t-shirts, handmade jewelry and bottle cap magnets. Her new venture of Banzai Chicks items are currently being sold at a store called Studio Root 66 in Highland Park, CA. When she is not painting, she is an avid student of the martial arts. She has a 2nd degree black belt in Budoshin Ju-Jitsu and a 1st degree black sash in Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu.
