tgoyetteWhat Novel should be a Movie?2014-05-12 05:43:25
tgoyetteAs an author, of course, I most want to see my own novel turned into a movie. But beyond that, I'd really love to see "A Wizard of Earthsea" made into a movie. Yes, the SyFy channel took some of the characters from the novels and wrote a whole new, Lame, story using them. Therefore, it doesn't count. 2014-05-12 05:47:22
jessbaumYeah, I would watch that. I finally read "A Wizard of Earthsea" and loved it though it kind of made me hate Harry Potter just a little. haha2014-05-12 05:58:47
r.tornelloIf you count alternative history in the SCIFI category, any number of short stories in THE BEST ALTERNATIVE HISTORY STORIES IF THE 20TH CENTURY edited by Harry Turtledove and Martin Greenberg, would be good. "The Lucky Strike" "Manassas, Again", "Mozart in Mirrorshades" and "Through Road No Whiter" are four that could be interesting if done with care. "The Lucky Strike" along with the photo of the post atomic bombing in Japan by Eisenstadt were paradigm shifters for me. They still resonate. RT 2014-05-12 06:19:34
IronspiderMy two suggestions would be 'Centauri Device' by M John Harrison and 'Forever War' by Joe Haldeman - there is a rumour that Ridley Scott now has the film rights to the latter, but after seeing 'Prometheus' I'm not hopeful... Just for information, Studio Ghibli adapted the Earthsea Trilogy into 'Tales from Earthsea', but I have to admit I haven't seen it, so can't say if it's a good adaptation.2014-05-12 23:21:21
jessbaumYeah my husband informed me of the Earthsea stuff, apparently there was also a sy-fy version. Definitely intrigued to see them. 2014-05-13 07:52:35
ACloutierI'd like to see a few different novels from the editors of this site made into movies. Particularly: "Out of Nowhere", "The King's Forresters", "Transdimensional Blues" , and "Lockdown".2014-05-16 08:35:48
bottomdwellerEven if you don't see the movie Godzilla - this is an hilarious review of the movie. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/16/movies/godzilla-grandaddy-of-movie-monsters-stomps-back.html?ref=todayspaper&_r=0 Funny!2014-05-16 09:18:01
