Biography

Artist Biography: Joanna Barnum is a freelance illustrator living in the Baltimore, Maryland area. She grew up in White Plains, New York and graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with a BFA degree in illustration and art history. Joanna's primary area of specialization is fantasy illustration, but she is also interested in children's, portrait, food, wildlife, and travel illustration. She also does privately commissioned portraiture of people and animals as well as fine art landscape and still life painting. Her usual method of working combines watercolor with mixed media. Among Joanna's recent achievements are inclusion in Epilogue's New Masters of Fantasy, Volume III and Aphrodisia: Art of the Female Form, Volume II.
