tgoyetteDesert Island book list?2013-03-11 05:21:06
tgoyetteWhat books could you not do without? You can choose up to three - anthologies and collected editions are acceptable. For me it would be: Sentenced to Prism by Alan Dean Foster, Dune by Frank Herbert, and Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clark. 2013-03-11 05:21:24
IronspiderMy three books would be: The Centauri Device by M John Harrison; Swansongs (the complete Hooded Swan series) by Brian Stableford; DNA Cowboy Trilogy (the complete DNA Cowboy series) by Mick Farren. I've read and re-read each of these books several times over and have yet to get bored of either the stories or the prose.2013-03-11 06:42:46
Pablo DynamoI'd have to have The Hitchhiker's Trilogy by Douglas Adams, Wild Seed by Octavia Butler, and, if I'm really deserted, a copy of the New Testament (various artists) to keep me sane. My uncle, may he rest in peace, thought the Bible was the best science fiction ever written. We all assume he's not waiting for us in heaven, but more likely orbiting Neptune for all eternity.2013-03-12 13:13:30
tisiphoneI'm claiming The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay as one book (I've got the triliogy in one book!), and definitely I'd want Callahan's Crosstime Saloon by Spider Robinson, then a non-fic, Ray Bradbury, Zen and The Art of Writing, for it's gung-ho spirit.2013-03-15 14:19:07
mark211Apart from 'The SAS Wilderness Survival Guide'(or similar) ... Solaris, Stanislaw Lem, The Famished Raod, Ben Okri, Arabian Night's Entertainments, Galland/Mack version, Gulliver's Travels, Jonathan Swift, Red Earth and Pouring Rain, Vikram Chandra, A Song of Ice and Fire, Martin, Watchmen ... OK, lots of stuff and also: The Complete Works of Jeffrey Archer - because you need kindling as well as toilet paper, at least for a while.2013-03-16 12:20:43
micheledutcherThe Once and Future King by T H White. I Robot. The Bible - an anthology of sorts. 2013-03-17 10:16:20
