October Horror Contest
by
Michele Dutcher
I love zombies…and vampires and ghosts and things that go bump in the night. I enjoy reading a story where the main character is walking through an average day – and then ‘everything went terribly wrong’.
To feed my flirtation with the Children of the Night, Quantum Muse has graciously consented to host a horror contest complete with prize money. There will be a:
$50.00 first place prize
$30.00 second place prize
$20.00 third place prize
In order to win, an author will need to bring their ‘A’ game. Whether your stories have been published repeatedly at Quantum Muse – or you are ‘fresh blood’ – all stories of horror are welcome here. Of course we editors (Tim Goyette and myself) will not be participating but all staff members are encouraged to give it a go. Whether a story happens in deep space, in an age long gone past, or in current London – it is not so much the setting but the quality of the tale told that will grab the golden ring.
All stories should be rated PG13…think prime time television. Stories should be sent to the following email address:
All stories received will become candidates for publication later in Quantum Muse, with the 1st 2nd and 3rd place stories to be published in the October issue of Quantum Muse.
So get out your pen or word processor, write a tale of terror, and send it to the above email address by September 25th 2016. The Muse says, “Scare Me!” Michele Dutcher
We shamelessly accept handouts! Give generously to the United Wa - uh, we mean Quantum Muse. It keeps Mike off the streets from scaring small children and the Web Goddess from spray painting Town Hall - again. |
